Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Shoppers will be streaming into stores up to the last minute to get what they hope, will make the holiday merry and bright for family and friends, especially the children.
Now days, children give their Christmas wish list to a black Santa, wearing Kente’ cloth or a white Santa dressed traditionally. Santa is the man, and they believe in him. But when should they learn the truth?
Okay, if you have young children around cover their ears or send them out of the room. Why should Santa or Good Old Saint Nick get credit for what you do? You truly are Santa, all year round. How about telling your children, something like mama and daddy send money to Santa to get the gifts you want. You’re fudging a bit, but the point is, Santa is a myth, and you are reality…so combine the two until the child tells you, Santa isn’t real. Or just tell the truth about Santa, that the holiday is not about him but about the name of the baby in the word, Christmas; It is about the Christ child. Have a Merry Christmas.
