Traffic is at its worse almost 24 hours a day in Metro Atlanta and lately even my tried-and-true shortcuts now are clogged. Everybody is in a hurry.
Tailgating, cutting in and out of lanes, usually with no signal or last-minute signals. Just because you put your signal on does not mean the person has to let you in. Riding someone’s bumper is not going to make them speed up. We are not on the autobahn in Germany.
Blocking an intersection with your car as you try to get through a light, messes up the orderly flow of traffic. The “don’t block the box sign,” is there for a reason. Just as handicapped parking is there for a reason. But I’ve seen so many people parked in handicapped spaces with no license plate, no placard, designating they are disabled. And do we really need to blow our horns, shout at people or give them the finger because they beat us to a parking space or cut us off, on the road? What is even more frightening now, some people respond with gunfire, road rage.
That old saying about packing your patience is still a good one, and remember, you are sharing the road. Try not to be selfish and exercise peace, love and goodwill towards men and women.
